88 Lady Impact Player, Laure Eldridge Makes Big South All-Freshmen Team
Laura Eldridge, a rookie forward for the High Point (N.C.) University women's soccer team, was named to the Big South Conference All-Freshmen team in a vote of the league's coaches.
Eldridge led the Panthers with seven goals this season, including a pair of game winners. She also topped the squad for points scored with 15.
An all-state honoree and two-time All-District selection at West High School, Eldridge was also a member of the State Championship 87 Diadora Impact Club Team as a prep player.
Off the pitch, Eldridge plans to major in sports management at HPU. She is the daughter of John Eldridge and Nanci Jackson.
HPU finished the regular season at 4-14-0 overall and 3-5-0 in the Big South, but had 10 losses coming by a single goal.
Said Panther head coach Michelle Rayner, "I personally feel that Laura had an outstanding first season and was definitely one of the league's best freshmen. Our team played an extremely challenging schedule this season and while we may not have posted the results we wanted, I still am proud of this team's performance and consider it a successful year." |
