Impact Alumni, Morgan Gruenenfielder Named Women's Soccer Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. —Carson-Newman College’s Morgan Gruenenfielder was named the SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, conference officials announced today. 

Gruenenfielder, a freshman forward from Sweetwater, TN (Sweetwater HS) helped keep the Lady Eagles undefeated on the 2007 season with a two-goal, one assist performance against Pfeiffer University in a key regional matchup at the Mars Hill tournament. Gruenenfielder set up the first C-N goal with an assist to Zarmena Kasparites in the seventh minute then scored C-N’s second goal in the 14th minute for a two-goal Lady Eagle advantage. Morgan capped the day with her second goal in the 59th minute for a 4-0 C-N victory. So far this season Gruenenfielder has scored three goals in four games for seven points and a .530 shot on goal percentage.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
