97 Impact Finalist in SMSC Fall Classic
The
97 Boys Impact Nike (U11) soccer team achieved the ranking of Finalist
while participating in their first tournament of the season, the Smoky
Mountain Soccer Club (SMSC) Fall Classic. Facing competition from Knoxville and surrounding areas, the boys, who lost a player to injury during the
prior weekend's games, were forced to play with no substitutions.
The team, playing in an older age bracket, came out victorious in
their first four games. The 97 Impact Nike defeated the Knoxville
Football Club Cosmos Orange 4-1, SMSC U12 Black 9-2, Middle Valley FC
96 3-0, and 97 Impact Swoosh 4-1. Nike's winning streak came to an end
Sunday evening in the Championship game against the SMSC U12 Red.
The Impact Nike team is made up of players from the Knoxville,
Oak Ridge and Lenoir City areas. Impact Nike will travel to Greenville,
SC to participate in the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy Tournament later
this month.
