97 Girls Mummey Wins CASL Shootouts
The Capital Area Soccer League held its CASL Shootout Soccer Tournament November 10, 11th 2007 in Raleigh N.C. This tournament is the premier soccer tournament in the Mid Atlantic area and is known for it’s tough competition and outstanding teams. Only the best teams in the county are invited and accepted to play in this elite tournament. The IMPACT 97 Girls Nike Mummey team was accepted into the CASL Shootout after a tough win in the premier tournament, Atlanta Cup. The U11 Girls were divided into four divisions. The IMPACT 97 Girls team played in the top Gold division.
Impact 97 Nike Mummey coached by Rex Mummey played 4 of the best teams in the top division. The IMPACT team had a tough rematch with ’96 SCSA Gold G from Charlotte, N.C. that finished in a tie and played another rematch with GSA 97 Red from Atlanta, Georgia in the Championship game finishing with a 1–0 win. Each of these teams is ranked number one in each of their respective states. Rachael Lindsey, assisted by Mariah Plieseis, scored the winning goal in the Championship game with about 5 minutes to play. Mayson Liner our goalkeeper only allowed two goals the entire tournament and had one assist. 97 Nike Mummey is ranked # 2 in the USA, # 1 in the Region and # 1 in Tennessee. This U11 Girls team is the only team ever to win the Raleigh Shootout Championship from the IMPACT USA.
After these wins in Atlanta and Raleigh there is no question that IMPACT USA is represented by one of the best U11 Girls soccer teams in Tennessee and in the country.
