Morgan Thomas Signs with Western KY
Bowling Green, Ky. — The Western Kentucky University women’s soccer team completed its 2006 recruiting class with the signing of four more players. Morgan Thomas, Nikki Workman, Rachel Friedman, and Marissa Yennie will enroll in school in the fall and be eligible for the 2006 season.
Thomas is a three-sport athlete — soccer, basketball, softball – for Centennial High in Franklin, Tenn. She was Centennial High’s Female Athlete of the Year as a freshman and named ‘most athletic’ as a senior. Thomas was district offensive MVP her senior year and first-team all-state in 2005 while scoring 23 goals as a senior. She took part in the state soccer Olympic Development Program for two years and was a member of the Diadora Impact, which won six state championships. Thomas was also an all-region performer in basketball and all-state in softball.
“Morgan is already a fantastic player whose game is going to take off once she focuses only on soccer,” Lady Topper head soccer coach Jason Neidell said. “She is a strong and fast player with a great attacking mentality.” |
