BELMONT WOMEN'S SOCCER INKS ST. CLAIR FOR 2006 Nashville, Tenn. – Five very talented young women will join the ranks of the Belmont women’s soccer team in the fall of 2006. Members of the quintet, the first recruiting class under first-year Head Coach Lisa Howe, hail from Tennessee, Georgia and Oklahoma.
“We have accomplished so many of our recruiting goals with this class,” said Howe. “All the signees compliment each other, having different strengths and weaknesses. They have been successful at the club and high school level, and they will definitely help us achieve our goal of moving up the ladder in the A-Sun.”
Brentwood, Tenn., native Jennifer St. Clair comes to Belmont from Ravenwood High School where she received many athletic accolades. The midfielder was named to the 5A High School All-District team and led Ravenwood in scoring two years running (2003- 20 goals, 2004- 17 goals). A member of the Tennessee State ODP Team (2002, 2003), St. Clair was a member of Diadora Impact 88 Premier club team, helping it to a national top-15 ranking as a senior. Earning additional honors on the gymnastics, track, and swimming teams, she was named RHS’s Most Athletic Female.
“I do not know if there is a better senior athlete in the state than Jennifer. She can do it all,” Howe said. “She can play every position. She can run with anybody. She can defend, attack, play possession, and play direct. She gives us so many options in one player. Her six consecutive State Championships prove that she is a successful competitor. Jen will be a huge asset.” | Posted on Friday, May 05, 2006 (Archive on Monday, January 01, 0001) Posted by JillBuckley25 Contributed by JillBuckley25
